Withings body scan
With the Withings Body Scan , the name says it all . The
body scales come with an extendable handle with electrodes on the right and
left. The specialty: With bioimpedance analysis (BIA) the scales send a weak
electrical signal through the body to estimate the body composition. The Body
Scan sends the signal through the upper body thanks to a handle. In this way,
according to the manufacturer, the new scale is able to output the segmental
body composition for arms, legs and torso separately. It also offers functions
for heart health, such as the option of recording an EKG. Based on the data,
the scale should detect the arrhythmia atrial fibrillation. The Body Scan will
be on the market in the second half of 2022 for 299.95 euros.
The Withings Body Scan can record an EKG, so
weighing is a minor matter.
Nextbase iQ
Instead of the home, the Nextbase iQ makes the car smart.
The package includes a reversing camera that shows what is happening behind the
car when parking. The main focus is on the dashcam, which has two lenses. One
keeps the street in view, the other the interior. The Nextbase is equipped with
an artificial intelligence that predicts incidents and is supposed to start the
recording independently. The Roadwatch AI also monitors the speed and lanes of
other road users, Drive Aware keeps an eye on the driver and checks whether he
or she is distracted or overtired. Information on price and availability is not
yet available.
There were only a few notebooks on display on the first day of the fair. Three models from Acer stood out. Particularly exciting: the Acer Chromebook Spin 513. The 13.5-inch model is the first Chromebook to come with the MediaTek Kompanio 1380. The ARM chip with eight cores should work quickly, but also efficiently. On the plus side, there is also an aluminum housing, a USB-C port and the WLAN standard Wifi 6. The device will be launched in April 2022, but there is no price yet.
